According to several experts, the year 2008 is going to see a huge increase in Colorado Springs Foreclosures and the good news is that next year might actually start seeing a decline in foreclosure homes. This might not be good news for investors and first time home buyers but then there is a huge repository of Colorado foreclosures available for sale even now and these homes will go in for auction well into 2009.
According to a state foreclosure report, 22,500 Colorado foreclosures were reported in the first 6 months, which is a straight increase of 16% from the number of homes reported in the first 6 months of 2007 when the number was 19,460. At the end of 2007, Colorado reported 39,915 foreclosure homes, which is a 40% increase since 2006. The Director of Colorado Division of Housing, Kathi Williams said that although there has not been a drop in the number of foreclosures in the state but there has definitely been a slow down in the rate of increase.
According to Kathi Williams, this slow down has taken place due to the foreclosure hotline. The hotline has so far received 17,000 calls as compared to 12,000 calls last year and this means that more and more homeowners are trying their best to avoid foreclosure. But for now, it seems like there is going to be a steep increase in Colorado Springs Foreclosures, which has made a major contribution to the overall foreclosures in the state. At the same time, this has presented first time homebuyers and investors with the opportunity to bid on some of the best homes available in Colorado Springs. All homes being sold through foreclosure auctions are priced lower than the actual value making it easier for many to own a home.
